Vow vs resolution, is there a difference?

Because January is typically the month for new beginnings, I  decided to do some amateur research about a vow and a resolution. Here is the formal definition of the two:

1. resolution: a firm decision to do or not to do something.

2. vow: a solemn promise to do a specified thing.

Note that, the difference seems to be in these two words, “promise” and “decision,” so which  seems to carry more weight?

Personally, what works for me is creating good habits. By good, I mean doing things everyday that will propel me to my destination. Think about it, the things that we do everyday are habits. We brush our teeth, we take a shower, and we eat. So, we have to create those same habitual behaviors when it comes to reaching our goals.

Just remember whatever you set out to do, follow your heart and the universe will take care of the rest! I’m wishing you a great start to this glorious New Year! This is real talk, so listen up!!! EVERYDAY SHOULD BE TREATED LIKE IT’S A NEW YEAR!

Peace & Love
